This blog serves as my sharing space and a sounding board for exploring various facets of the politics of the non-political. I use the Philippines, Indonesia and the Malay World as my empirical base.
PROFILE
Rommel A. Curaming is Lecturer in History and Southeast Asian Studies at the Universiti Brunei Darussalam (UBD), where is the Programme Leader of History and Coordinator of Southeast Asian Studies programme. Prior to joining UBD, he was a Postdoctoral Fellow at the National University of Singapore (NUS) and Visiting Fellow under the Endeavour Award Australia (2008) at La Trobe University. He completed PhD with a thesis on state-historian relations in Indonesia and the Philippines at the Australian National University (ANU). The book based on this thesis, Power and Knowledge in Southeast Asia: State and Scholars in Indonesia and the Philippines, was published by Routlege in 2020 He used to teach at De La Salle University-Manila, Philippine Science High School-Diliman and Colegio San Agustin-Makati. In addition a PhD from ANU, he also completed MA in Southeast Asian Studies (NUS), MA Asian Studies (UP Diliman) and Bachelor of Secondary Education (UP Diliman).
